” Djerba, Tunisie.”
Djerba, is the largest island in North Africa, located in the southeastern part of the Gulf of Gabès, at the mouth of the Boughrara Gulf, in the south-east of Tunisia. It is one of the few places in Tunisia where the Berbers still speak. In ancient times the island was known by the name Meninx, or even Lotophagitis, since many identified with it the Lotofagi Island where Ulysses had landed on his journeys. According to the historian Sesto Aurelio Vittore, on this island, in 251, were proclaimed Roman emperors Treboniano Gallo and his son Volusiano.
